National Awards

Accreditation Recognition

Accreditation recognition is given to chapters who have met or exceeded Fraternity expectations in a minimum of 7 of the 9 accreditation standards on the Annual Report. These chapters have placed an emphasis and priority on Ritual, Recruitment, Education, Scholarship, Finances, Chapter Operations, Campus and Community Relations, Risk Management, and Alumni Relations. Chapters failing to achieve accreditation are not eligible for any national awards.

Memorial Trophy Award

The Memorial Trophy is awarded to Theta Xi's top performing chapter.  Based on a culmination of scholastic excellence and membership education, outstanding chapter operations, commitment to service, and a continuance of values based living, this given only to the top performing chapter and is a symbol of the chapters commitment to excellence.   

President's Cup

In 2014, the Grand Lodge established The Presidents Cup to honor chapters performing at the top 10%, based on awards criteria for various areas of performance and achievement. The highest of that group receives the Memorial Trophy, the Fraternity's highest chapter honor.

Benchmark Chapter Awards 

The Benchmark Award is given to those chapters that exemplify Theta Xi in their day-to-day operations. This award is only given to the top 11-20% of all Theta Xi Chapters.

General Improvement Trophy

The General Improvement Trophy is awarded to those chapters that have shown the most amount of improvement over the past academic year.  This award recognizes a chapter's commitment to raising its standards of development and success of not only the chapter, but of its overall membership as well.  

Outstanding Recruitment Recognition

The Outstanding Recruitment Award is presented to chapters continuing to demonstrate exceptional recruitment results. Those chapters that reach a recruitment goal of at least 15 men and match or beat their recruitment efforts from the previous year receive this award.

Daniel J. Haughton Award

The Daniel J. Haughton Award is presented in memory of Brother Haughton, Alpha Lambda 3, Alabama, who's tireless efforts to raise support and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis resulted in its establishment as one of Theta Xi's national philanthropic causes.  It is a symbol of the recipients commitment to the MS cause and continued support of MS research.

Habitat for Humanity Service Excellence Award

The Habitat for Humanity Service in Excellence Award is presented to chapters demonstrating outstanding commitment and support to Theta Xi's national philanthropy, Habitat for Humanity.

Local Community Service Excellence Awards

Presented to chapters showing unsurpassed commitment to uplifting their local communities through service events, education opportunities, and support programs, the Local Community Service Excellence Award is a symbol of the chapters commitment to its community.

Scholastic Achievement Awards

There are two different awards given to chapters who achieve the highest level of academic success. Chapters who achieve a cumulative GPA higher than any other NIC fraternity on campus are recognized as being 1st Among Fraternities. Chapters achieving .2 above the All-Male GPA are also recognized with a certificate of achievement.

Outstanding Communications Awards 

Awards are given to chapters who have exceptional communication efforts. With two possible awards in this area, Top Chapter Website and Top Newsletter, each area is ranked 1st-3rd.

Outstanding District Award

Theta Xi Fraternity is organized into eight "districts" of the United States. Every chapter falls into one of these districts. Each year districts compete against one another to claim the honor of Outstanding District. This award recognizes just one of the eight districts that collectively, and consistently, has the highest percentage of Accredited Chapters within its district. 

Dr. W. Turrentine Jackson, Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award

Given to just one Delegate to the Grand Lodge (Chapter Advisor) each year, this award is a public statement of recognition for his tireless effort, commitment, and passion for Theta Xi Fraternity. This individual is committed to ensuring the highest level of accountability and achievement of the Chapter and it's membership.

Barry Breen Outstanding Undergradaute of the Year Award

The Barry Breen Outstanding Undergraduate Brother of the Year Award recognizes the time, effort, and leadership given by an undergraduate brother for the improvement of his chapter, campus, and community. Brothers who contribute their time and efforts have a positive impact on their chapter and its members. Successful nominees will have encountered challenges and resistance, worked to make important chapter change, or helped an excellent chapter become even better.
